We meet once again. How has the journey been thus far? I take it that it has been quite the wild ride. After all, we now find ourselves as the river leading to the sea. Pay no mind to the still waters as it is merely the calm before the glorious storm. Do not worry so like you do because we know very well that rain brings with it something special. Are you unsure what? Well, it brings with it a growth of life. Look at all that is beautifully green and luscious in life – without rain, it would not be possible. Much like our lives, the storms at first bring immense turbulence, but once it is over, life can start anew with an even greater vigour than before. Do not worry, as we are the river and being the river, a storm causes us to flow with more passion, moving ever more rapidly than before.
We are moving now, and our movement shall not be stopped even by a storm. We know where we are going, so we must keep to our course and push full steam ahead. However, I sense a little envy as many eyes turn to look at the other rivers. The thought that what is there is better than what is here might cross many a mind, but how would any know it is better when only their eyes have been there? Even if dipping of toes in other such rivers were to occur, what do the toes know about something being or not being better, as having a taste of something is not the same as eating the entire full course meal? A realisation should cross the mind about where most rivers should end up. We are all destined for the ocean! No matter what one might do, it is best to realise that is our final destination. Do not worry much because you can do what you like before the final destination, but making what you do count would be far better than the alternatives. What was that saying again? Oh right! Live each day as if it were your last. So, how would you like to live your last days in this river of ours?
Is it a feeling of being unsure that paralyses us all? Perhaps we fear having to make a choice and not knowing the outcome of our choice. I understand, but what is there to dread? Is it not worse to do nothing and become nothing? We do not need to move only when we are beyond doubt, as we are constantly in throws with uncertainty, and every move we have and shall carry out is fraught with uncertain consequences. Just know that it is about what we do when faced with the consequences that will count and how we handle what we have brought about for ourselves, which will make a considerable difference.
This river has beauty when you know where to look; all it takes is to be an adventurous spirit. Remember that you must not splash about so much as it would make it turbulent for the rest of us; you should best leave that for the storms, as the storms are enough of a challenge for us all, so why make it harder for us all?
